Black Friday 2019 is quickly approaching, which means some of the best deals of the year are about to be upon us and the temptation to spend will be everywhere — especially at Costco for money expert Clark Howard.
If you play your cards right this holiday shopping season you’ll be able to save big while working through your “Nice” list, but it’s important not to get caught up in the hype of the holiday. Over the past few years, Black Friday has evolved from a one-day event to a seasonal mentality that lasts well beyond the day after Thanksgiving.
It’s important to know when you can find the best deals and, surprisingly, it isn’t always necessarily on Black Friday. Some hot products will actually be overstocked by many stores (including Costco) and available at a better price closer to the holidays. Likewise, online shopping is making it easier to find bargains before Black Friday itself.
If you do decide to shop on November 29 this year, be sure to know when your target purchases will have the best price and always price compare to ensure you’re getting the best deal before making your final decision.
Costco Black Friday 2019: Here’s What You Need to Know
Where Can I Find Costco’s Black Friday Ad?
Costco’s Black Friday ad was leaked on October 30 this year by BestBlackFriday.com. The 32-page ad includes deals running from November 7 through December 2 both online and in-store, which means you’ll have several opportunities to save big at Costco this year.
In the ad, you’ll find online and warehouse savings available from November 7 through November 21 this year as well as online and warehouse savings valid November 22 through December 2. The ad also includes online Black Friday deals that begin November 28 and warehouse doorbusters available November 29.
What Time Does Costco Open for Black Friday?
Many stores made the decision to stay closed on Thanksgiving Day last year, which is a tradition for Costco. As always, it will be closed on Thanksgiving Day this year and it will open again with Black Friday doorbusters at 9:00 the next morning. Costco is still offering exclusive online-only deals all day on Thanksgiving. You can preview those in the company’s Black Friday ad.
What Kind of Black Friday Deals Can I Expect From Costco?
You can expect to see several great deals on Xbox One bundles, including consoles, controllers and game passes. You’ll also see great deals on Bluetooth headphones and speakers, smartwatches, tablets and soundbars. Costco is offering up to $300 off Apple computers this year, as well as Microsoft Surface Pro bundles with savings up to $300.
You’ll also find deals on the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ and Note+ including an instant $420 savings with Verizon activation or a $420 shop card with AT&T or Sprint activation. If you plan on taking advantage of this deal, here are five things to know before buying a cell phone at Costco.
In addition to technology, home essentials, groceries and apparel are discounted throughout the shopping season. Beginning November 7, you can also save $70 on a set of four tires and get free installation, which typically costs $80.

Other Ways to Prepare for Costco’s Black Friday Shopping Season
- Locate your nearest Costco.
- Keep in mind that Costco includes shipping and handling in their advertised online price, and a lot of the company’s Black Friday deals will be available online as well as in-store. Some deals, including all discounts and sales on November 28, will be online-only exclusives.
- Remember that many of Costco’s deals will be available beyond November 29, with some offers starting early and lasting through Cyber Monday on December 2. And remember, Black Friday isn’t necessarily always the best time to buy.
Finally, Don’t Forget to Comparison Shop!
Before you make your final purchase, use a website like Google Shopping to compare the prices at other stores to avoid missing out on a better deal.
While you should always remember to price compare before buying, the best advice we can offer for this year’s Black Friday season is to set a budget for yourself and stick to it. Take advantage of great deals on purchases that you need but, again, don’t get caught up in the hype of the holiday!
