If you’re thinking about buying a cheap printer, keep in mind that there are more expenses to consider than just the printer itself.
Depending on how much you use your home printer, the cost of ink replacement can add up quickly. While you’re shopping for a cheap printer, check the price of ink cartridges to avoid unexpected future expenses.
In this article, we’ll only be looking at the price of the printer itself.

Where to Find the Best Cheap Printer Deals
ClarkDeals has been posting the best deals from around the web, including cheap printer deals, since 2016. Here’s where we’ve seen the best prices:
The Top Five Places To Buy a Cheap Printer:
As you can see, the most deals have come from Amazon and Office Depot.
Amazon has offered cheap printers for as low as $19 in the past, and you can typically find a great deal around Prime Day in July or Black Friday in November. We’ve also seen cheap printers at Office Depot ranging from $30 to $50, particularly during back-to-school season in July, August and September.
Beyond Amazon and Office Depot, you’ll find great prices on printers from Best Buy. Bookmark this page for the best daily deals available at Best Buy and you may be able to grab a new printer for a great one-day-only price!
Lastly, be sure to check out the selection at Staples and Walmart before making your final decision. Walmart has offered cheap all-in-one printers for as low as $19 in the past, and we’ve seen printer deals from as low as $40 at Staples during Black Friday sales. That makes both of these stores great options for getting the best price on a cheap printer.

In addition to these printers, each store carries a huge selection of brands and models both online and in-store. Check out the stores below for more information on shipping, pricing and brands. Be sure to also familiarize yourself with each store’s return policy before making your final purchase.
Amazon
Amazon currently offers the best price on both the second and third highest-rated cheap printers according to Consumer Reports. You’ll also find a huge selection of printers from more brands like Canon, HP, Epson, and Xerox.
One of the best things about shopping at Amazon is how easy it is to track a product’s price history with Camelcamelcamel. When I searched for the Lexmark B2338dw, I saw that its price changes often and it actually dropped to just below $100 this past summer. Based on that information, I know that I may want to watch the price on this printer for a while. I don’t want to make this purchase, only to miss out on a better deal a few days later.
Amazon offers free shipping on most purchases over $25, which means most of the printers won’t have additional shipping fees attached to them.
Office Depot
Office Depot is a great place to check for regular deals and a big selection of cheap printers. This store actually has the best price available for the highest-rated “best buy” printer according to Consumer Reports.
You can find the Brother HL-L2370DW available for $93.99 on sale at the time of writing, which means it’s eligible for free next-day shipping or same-day pickup. In addition to Brother, you’ll also find printers by Canon, Epson, HP, Lexmark and more available at Office Depot.
Qualifying $45 orders are eligible for free next-day shipping. If the printer you’re looking at is cheaper, you can still choose free one-hour in-store pickup where available.
Best Buy
Best Buy offers top-rated printers for as low as $59.99. The store is also not far behind Office Depot when it comes to the price on the best cheap printer. You can find the Brother HL-L2370DW for $99.99, which is $30 off its original price at the time of writing.
In addition to this printer, you’ll find great prices on HP, Canon, Epson, Amazon and Insignia brand printers with deals starting as low as $35.
Best Buy offers free shipping on most orders over $35, which means all of the current available printers are eligible. You can also return printers within 15 days of purchase, so be sure to hold on to your receipt just in case it doesn’t work out.
Staples
Staples carries printers from HP, Brother, Epson, Canon, Lexmark and Xerox. The store even matches Best Buy’s current price on the highest-rated Consumer Reports “best buy” printer.
The Brother HL-L2370DW printer is available for $99.99 with free next-day delivery. Free shipping extends to most orders over $35, which means all of the printers they carry are eligible.
Printers at Staples begin as low as $49.99 online right now, which has been a pretty standard price over the years. The best deal we’ve seen from Staples was only $10 lower. You can return printers at Staples purchased online or in-store within the first two weeks of purchase.
Walmart
While Walmart doesn’t have the best price for any of the highest-rated cheap printers, the store has posted enough great deals in the past to warrant a spot on this list.
Walmart has offered great cheap printers for as low as $19 in the past. You can find a selection available online now from as low as $24. Some printers even come with credit for your first ink cartridge purchase.
You can get free shipping on printers over $35, which is most of them. You can also get free in-store pickup on any printer available near you. Printers can be returned to Walmart within 30 days, which makes this a great place to make your final purchase.
Final Thoughts
If you’re shopping for a cheap home printer, you’ll most likely find the best price at Amazon or Office Depot. Best Buy, Staples and Walmart are also great places to check for regular deals and low prices.
No matter where you decide to shop, be sure to compare prices with a tool like Google Shopping to ensure you’re getting the best and most current deal available.
Before you make your final purchase, be sure to also take into account the price of replacement ink cartridges for the specific printer you’re looking at. It’s always a better deal if you can save over time beyond the initial investment!
On that note, it’s important to only pay for what you need when it comes to technology. Think about what you’ll be using the printer for. If you don’t need a wireless all-in-one printer/scanner/fax machine, you don’t need to pay for one. Keep it simple and put the extra cash in your pocket.
