One of the world’s largest retailers is getting serious about health care with two initiatives: Walmart Care Clinic and a new service called Walmart Health.
Introducing Walmart Care Clinic and Walmart Health
Health care is a big issue for our nation and part of the problem is the lack of price transparency. Well, Walmart aims to address that with its first-ever Walmart Health center in Dallas, Georgia.
If you’ve ever gotten to the doctor’s office and frustrated wondering what your final bill is going to be, Walmart Health will bring clarity to that. You’ll know the estimated cost of your visit when you book your appointment with Walmart Health.
The new initiative is a more comprehensive offshoot of Walmart’s existing Care Clinics program.
In this article, we’ll take a look at what both Walmart Care Clinic and Walmart Health offer, the prices you’ll pay for a variety of services, hours of operation and more.

“We announced our second location opening in Calhoun, GA, [in early 2020],” Marilee McInnis, Head of Health and Wellness Communication, tells Clark.com. “[Walmart hasn’t] announced additional locations. We are using these prototypes to learn how best to deliver the integrated care our customers want and need.”

Final Thought
Money expert Clark Howard has long talked about how so much of what’s wrong with medicine is that pricing is murky. But both Walmart Care Clinics and Walmart Health buck that trend by being clear and upfront about pricing.
“With everything else we do in our lives, price is a signal we use to decide what and where to buy. Health care should be the same,” Clark says. “We’re talking about something that’s virtually one-fifth of our economy!”
